Offensive Body odor is a problem for many people, and it caused by a variety of things, such as excessive
sweating, which in turn causes the person to sweat out strong food odors such as onions or garlic. The
bacteria that builds up as a result causes offensive body odor.
The use of commercial deodorants and antiperspirants isn’t recommended as these will interfere with the
body’s sweat glands and has been linked to cancer in the lymph nodes.
Most commercial antiperspirants are aluminum based and will clog the pores. Instead, there are very
effective natural alternatives to decrease body odor and excessive sweating.
Apple cider vinegar or white vinegar are both good for lowering the natural PH of the skin and odor
causing bacteria can not live in a low PH environment. Just rub vinegar under the armpit instead of
deodorant. The vinegar smell will disappear shortly.
Baking soda is one of the best alternatives to using commercial deodorants available.
Just dust baking soda under the armpits on dry skin and it will absorb moisture as well as kill odor causing
bacteria. It’s also good to put into shoes to help with smelly, sweaty feet.
It has been reported that Zinc can actually help to reduce body odor. Zinc supplements can be obtained

naturally high in Zinc
Sage has natural antiperspirant properties. Sage tea is an excellent way to decrease all over body
odor. Sage helps to reduce the output of excessive sweating due to over active sweat glands. Put 1 and ½
teaspoons of dried sage into a cup of hot water and let steep for about 10 minutes. Drink this in small doses
throughout the day, about a teaspoon each time.
It should be noted the women who are pregnant should not use Sage internally.
Tea Tree Oil can also be used to reduce body odor. Tea Tree Oil has mild antiseptic properties, but it
may cause dermatitis in some people. It is recommended that you use it in small amounts at first to be sure
that it will not cause problems for you.
