1. Interesting Reiki Stories:
Reiki stories are posted as a way to help keep us inspired and to remember to use Reiki as a tool in healing. If you have an experience or story to share, please forward it to us, otherwise I will try to post a story or two monthly that I find on the web.
Natural Pain Reliever I need to tell you last week I was visiting one of my daughters. Melissa was outside with all 4 of her children when I arrived unexpectedly. Her husband was working on her car and Melissa was telling me how her neck and shoulder was so tight and painful. I recall what you said about your aunt. I did an intention in my mind and kept talking and put my hand on her shoulder area as we spoke. At one point Melissa mention how warm my hand was but I continued to talk and laugh and watching the grandkids running all over. I said my goodbyes a short time later. Melissa called me later that night and said, "I don't know if you did Reiki on me, but whatever you did worked". She told me later on that night she realized she had no more pain. I just said, glad your feeling better. Submitted by Linda T

2. Requests for Long Distance Healing:
Requests for Long Distance Healing: When there are several requests, in our small way, we can participate by adding each individual to our prayer list or to send long distance Reiki. Please consider printing out these requests so you can remember these people over this next month.
If you make a request for long distance healing, it would be helpful if you could provide us with some feedback on how the person is doing after a period of time.Remember if there are multiple requests, you can use the stack method of sending long distance Reiki. One suggestion would be: When time permits-- send long distance Reiki for one specific request, then add that request to an on-going list or stack that receives unlimited Reiki.
Level I Practitioners: You can participate in the Long Distance Requests by adding the individuals to your prayer list or send positive thoughts and intentions.
Prayers for Transition Request: Submitted by Susan My extended family has been hit by two tragic deaths is the span of less than one week. My cousin Joanne Blake passed away on Mother's day after an extended battle with cancer. Her mother, Eleanor Talio, then passed away unexpectedly a few days later. Please pray for both of them as they move onto to the next steps in their spiritual journey as well as all the family members left behind that are struggling with such deep personal loss.
Request from Jeanette F: Please include my friend John Huggens, from Ocean Isle Beach, NC, on the long distance reiki and/or prayer list for healing from a current health challenge. Thank you!
Prayer request for Gary and Cindy Hogman by way of Faith Presbyterian Church, Emmaus PA .Gary is serving in Iraq while his young wife is fighting cancer here.
Request from Pam FR Please send LDR to Dolores Anderson. She was the 77 year old woman who was in a head-on collision on County Line Rd. last week. She is in HUP with a broken back, broken sternum, 8 broken ribs, broken hip, broken leg and needs an operation on her heel. Since the accident, she has already had a heart op to put back a vein that came out in the accident. I worry about pneumonia as she cannot move. Thank you in advance.
This section will be updated as requests come in, if you have a request for Long Distance Reiki, email it to seedsforchange@comcast.net, title the request Long Distance Reiki

3. Q & A
QUESTION: Should I ground myself when I prepare to give a Reiki session to another person?
ANSWER: When preparing to give a Reiki session to another individual, I feel it is helpful to ground yourself at the beginning of the session. I always do a personal body scan to assess what is going on within me and if I am experiencing any aches or pains. This has become my was of determining whether something going on belongs to me or the person I am giving Reiki to. If I am feeling ache-free before beginning and suddenly experience a painful sensation somewhere in my body, I have learned it usually represents one of two things, their is an energetic release going on in the other person, but it is coming through me, in which case, I let it go. Or it can mean for me to move to that corresponding spot on the individual to place my hands in that position, which then tends to very quickly release the ache or pain on my body. So that is the first thing I do before even beginning a session.
Once I have activated the Reiki energy to turn on and I become the channel, I ground myself by imagining roots growing out the bottom of my feet. I also instruct the client to do this grounding as well. I will tell them to use the root visualization for a two fold purpose. The root system can be one way for them to allow energy that is no longer needed to exit the body, going into the earth to be transformed to a higher vibration. The other way to use the root system is for them to absorb any nourishment from Mother Earth that would benefit them at the current time. It is not a required step, but it is one I feel works as a best practice for me when giving Reiki to others. - Susan

Videos:
Enjoy the Ride ( 3:20) The author of this powerful video is unknown. However, a large majority of its content is from a newsletter authored by Jon Gordon, which can be accessed here.
Some more of its content should be attributed to Pulitzer Prize- winning columnist Regina Brett of the Cleveland Beacon Journal in her article "45 life lessons and 5 to grow on"
In addition, the main soundtrack on the video, "The Impossible Dream" from Man of La Mancha is performed by Bronn Journey. It is Track # 9 on his album Life is Beautiful, and can be accessed here.
Order Through Chaos in Ascension (4:11) Only in chaos is order to be found within the dualistic dimension that is Earth and sense is then made of intelligent light as the heart energy of love merges with that light - bringing an Ascension experience - that knows no boundaries.
Activation of the Indigo Children (6:22) The Indigos shall incarnate within the veil of forgetfullness but as the golden ones incarnate and activate the grid, so shall they activate the Indigo children, many of whom are now adults and are parents to new Indigos and Crystals

7. Working with Others:
Everything is Vibration by Jonathan Goldman From the chair that you may be sitting in to the computer you are reading this on, everything is in a state of vibration. This is not a new idea. Our ancient mystics have known this for many a millennium, but now our scientists are beginning to understand this and agree with this. It is a wonderful start.
From the electrons spinning around the nucleus of an atom, to the planets spinning around suns in the galaxy, everything is in movement. Everything is in vibration. And if it is in vibration, it is putting out a sound.
Now, whether or not we can hear this sound is a different matter. Sound travels as a wave form. First, let us say that one way of measuring sound is how fast or slow this wave form is moving. These waves are measured as cycles and sound is measured in cycles per second. This is called its frequency. Very slow waves make very low sounds. Very fast waves make very high sounds. The lowest note on a piano is about 24 cycles per second. The highest note on a piano is about 4,000 cycles per second.
Now, we hear from around 16 to about 16,000 cycles per second. Yet just because we can’t hear something does not mean it is not vibrating, nor creating a sound. Dolphins can project and receive information upwards of 180,000 cycles per second, more than 10 times that of humans. And this to them is sound. Do not let the notion that if you can not hear an object it is not vibrating or making a sound. There–we have solved the old Zen Koen asking about a tree falling in the forest.
The 'AH' Sound: To Generate Peace and Compassion
I would like to suggest that you have people use the "AH" sound, in whatever key or tone feels comfortable for them. This is an extremely powerful sound--particularly useful for generating peace and compassion. I know you will agree that peace and compassion are truly keys to transformation of consciousness on this planet.
As you may know, the "AH" sound is a sacred seed syllable. It is found in most of the God and Goddess names on the planet (Tara, Buddha, Krishna, Yah, Astara ), as well as many of the sacred words (Amen, Alleluia, Aum). Most mystical traditions worldwide also find it to be the sound of the heart chakra. Yet, as a vowel sound, it defies denomination or description as a mantra and is acceptable by everyone.
To do this, simply sound the “AH”, feeling the energy of peace and compassion as the sound resonates in your heart center. While making this “AH”, visualize a beam of pink and gold energy going initially from you and spreading throughout this planet. As you make this sound, and do this visualization, feel the energy of peace and compassion within and without yourself. This feeling of peace while you make the sound is essential to the effectiveness of projecting the “AH”.
Here is another exercise using the “AH” sound that is extremely beneficial for developing compassion within self and then generating it to others. Start first with yourself and begin to tone the “AH” sound while feeling the energy of compassion and peace within. Once you have been able to achieve this feeling, visualize a person with whom you have neutral energy and send this energy to them while making this sound. Finally, make the “AH” sound while sending the energy of peace and compassion to someone with whom you’ve had some difficulty. It is this last part of the exercise that provides the greatest opportunity for spiritual growth. It is easy to send love and peace to someone you already love. Or, with the second part of the exercise, someone you don’t have any real feelings about. It can be a real challenge to send compassion to someone you don’t love and whom you may consider to be an enemy. Yet, herein lies the most extraordinary evolutionary activation that can occur on both a personal and planetary level. If we can learn to do this, we will great assist the ascension of the Earth.

9. Tips & Tidbits:
60 Ways to Heal Your Life… From Lynda Field’s book Each month one of Lynda’s suggestion is included:
Suggestion 41: Respect Parenthood Parenthood is a hugely challenging area which can take us to heavenly heights or to hellish lows. As parents we are confronted with the popular culture myths about parenting, fatherhood and motherhood. We do an amazing job in the face of a fundamental contradictory belief which is supported by the culture in which we live. Look at this confusing belief: a mother has a powerful role/motherhood is not important. So, if the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world, how come we mothers have so little status? No wonder we get confused.
EXERCISE- KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER ABOUT PARENTHOOD Make a list of the following points and refer to it constantly. When the dinner is burning and the washing machine has broken down and you only had three hours sleep last night, remember YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Parents everywhere are doing a magnificent job: remind yourself to respect the act of parenthood. Put this list in a prominent place.
1. Parenthood is a big job. 2. I am a good parent. I am doing my best. 3. Parenthood is vital- -the survival of the species depends on it. 4. Guilt is not an intrinsic part of parenthood. I don't have to feel guilty. 5. When guilt engulfs me, I can just step out of it. Guilt ruins family life. 6. I need to look after myself. I cannot give to others if I have nothing left to give. 7. There are no perfect parents; we all make mistakes. Its OK to make mistakes; this is how we learn. 8. I am free to feel and to express all of my emotions. 9. Parenthood is a state of potential conflict; I can accept this and work with it. I am flexible and creative. 10. My children do what I do and not what I say. 11. I forgive and thank my mother and father. They taught me what they know about parenthood. 12. It is safe for my children to grow up. I can easily let them go. 13. I pass on my patterns of self-esteem to my children. I can create huge self-esteem. 14. I deserve a supportive and validating family life.
