1.  Interesting Reiki Stories:

Reiki stories are posted as a way to help keep us inspired and to remember to use Reiki
as a tool in healing.  If you have an experience or story to share, please forward it to us,
otherwise I will try to post a story or two monthly that I find on the web.

2.  Requests for Long Distance Healing:

Requests for Long Distance Healing:
When there are several requests, in our small way, we can participate by adding each
individual to our prayer list or to send long distance Reiki.  Please consider printing out
these requests so you can remember these people over this next month.

If you make a request for long distance healing, it would be helpful if you could provide us
with some feedback on how the person is doing after a period of time. Remember if there
are multiple requests, you can use the stack method of sending long distance Reiki.  One
suggestion would be:  When time permits-- send long distance Reiki for one specific
request,  then add that request  to an on-going list or stack that receives
unlimited Reiki.

Level I Practitioners:
You can participate in the Long Distance Requests by adding the individuals to your
prayer list or send positive thoughts and intentions.

Request

My friend Lori who moved to Berlin, MD could use reike.  Her MS is "up and running"
again... numb from feet up to breasts... Recently went for 3 day session of IV's, and
starting to feel some areas of the body, but could use your reiki as well as prayers.

Also Dean underwent cancer surgery on prostate... local man, but can use any help that's
available... Both have strong spiritual lives and are in direct contact with the Man
upstairs... but reike is also very good.

3. Q & A

The following question/answer were from Reiki for Dummies

QUESTION:
Do I need to receive an attunement to receive this high level energy? (referring to Reiki
energy)

ANSWER:
No. But few people are naturally attuned to this energy. Very spiritual people through their
spiritual practices may already access this energy. Practitioners of other energy work
such as T'ai Chi or Qigong, may also utilize this energy, but it may take years of practice
to consistently reach this level.

What is unique about Reiki is that it opens your energy channelst o receive this high level
energy quickly with no effort on your part

4.  What's New?

We are closing our office location in Silverdale, PA at the end of this month.  It has
been a difficult decision for us to close, but due to the current economic situation and the
expenses associated with maintaining an office, we can no longer continue.  We have
been blessed with meeting and getting to know so many wonderful people through the
years.  Our intent is to continue to offer our classes through a
hosting program.

The Reiki newsletter will continue until the end of this year.  The issues that are archived
on line will remain on the website, but at this point I no longer intend to continue to put ou
t
a monthly publication.  I hope those who have followed this newsletter through the years
have found it informative and beneficial for both continued spiritual growth and as a
motivating tool to keep you inspired to work with this wonderful healing modality.

Spiritual Awakening: Mystical awakening is individual. Your particular sequence will be the
very best one for you. It is arranged through the instrumentality of higher consciousness
itself. You must give yourself a chance and not interfere with your awakening. Using
guidelines from this website and Mysteries.Net may be helpful, but to use these principles
in order to set your will on how your awakening is supposed to occur will greatly inhibit you.

7.  Working with Others:
Herxheimer Reaction: The Healing Crisis
Whether just working on yourself in an effort to restore balance or if you are working with
others, it is important to have a basic understanding of the healing process.  Healing
tends to follow a pattern, and if we are not aware of the possibilities, we may mistake them
for a worsening of our condition rather than an improvement.

Source:
The Herxheimer Reaction occurs when the body is detoxifying too rapidly and toxins are
being released faster than the body can eliminate them. When this occurs, one will suffer
from headaches, nausea, vomiting, and malaise. Even though this is but a short period of
the health program, it can be severe and deter one from reaching their intended goals.
Also, the person may not know what they are experiencing and think that they are
regressing.

To minimize the Herxheimer Reaction:
-  Drinks lots of pure alkaline ionized water
-  Get minimal exercise daily
-  Lots of sunshine
-  Take detoxification slowly ... one step at a time
-  Don’t increase the dose of herbals
-  Keep the organs of elimination (bowels, lungs, skin, kidneys) open
-  Take detox baths
-  Use aromatherapy oils for aches -like peppermint, birch, and wintergreen
-  Sweat by using exercise, saunas, baths, and herbs
-  Avoid foreign chemicals and refined processed foods

If the Herxheimer reaction occurs, cut back on your health detoxification program. Reduce
the dose of herbs and follow the above outline to reduce the symptoms of toxin
elimination. The more toxins there are to eliminate, the sicker one is when they come out.
Generally, one will feel better when all is over and health is restored again. Just
remember, don’t give up. Herxheimer reaction is also known as a healing crisis.

9.  Tips & Tidbits:

60 Ways to Heal Your Life… From Lynda Field’s book
Each month one of Lynda’s suggestion is included:

Suggestion 45: Improve Your Sex Life
Physical attraction is always so strong at the beginning of a relationship.  The tantalizing
nature of the mating game, attracting and seducing, leaves the hormones in a perpetual
state of excitement and the beloved is an amazingly erotic hero/heroine who can do no
wrong. Now wonder the sex is good! And then, if the fairy tale comes true and we become
a "stable relationship", everything changes.

Increasing commitment and responsibility to each other brings peace and security. The
early days of thrilling sexual excitement (Will he notice me? Will she ring?  What a hero!)
end. Things like jobs, children and mortgages inevitably affect our sex lives. Some people
never have a permanent relationship because they can't bear to lose the thrill of the
chase and the seduction. Others have affairs throughout their marriages for similar
reasons. Bit it is possible to keep your sex life buzzing in a long term relationship.

Try the following:
- Focus your attention on your sex life. If it's losing its appeal talk about it to each other.

- Keep talking about sex with each other. We can be sexual all day-we don't have to wait
until we get into bed at night and turn off the lights.

-Put the romance back into your relationship. Remember how it was at the start, recreate
that atmosphere. Think about why you entered this relationship. What turned you on in
the first place?

-Spend time along with each other, turn off the television, stop cleaning the kitchen and
enjoy each other.

-Laugh together. When we share humor we bring great intimacy into our relationship. A
great sense of humor is a terrific turn-on.

-Change the way you do things, break some of your oh-so-comfortable/boring routines.
You will know what these are!

- Think about sex. This advice is for women. Research shows that men think about sex at
least five times in an hour (a very conservative estimate, I should think) Women often
don't think about it at all! If you don't think about sex...start!
