1. Interesting Reiki Stories:
Reiki stories are posted as a way to help keep us inspired and to remember to use Reiki as a tool in healing. If you have an experience or story to share, please forward it to us, otherwise I will try to post a story or two monthly that I find on the web.
Using Reiki with a Stomach Ache My son was very sick one night with severe stomach nausea. He had no color in his face. I had just come home and immediately went to his side. I held my hands out from his stomach area for a few minutes. He started feeling better, so I asked him if it was ok for me to lay my hands on his lower back. As I continued to send Reiki to my son I noticed that his color came back into his face, and he said he didn't feel sick anymore. He said, "Mom the knot in my stomach went away". From that moment on he loved Reiki, and continues to ask for Reiki sessions frequently. - Laurie L. Morrill
Reiki Helps Black Lab A Black Lab is hit by a car. Koi is taken to the Vet where it is determined that she most likely will not survive the drive home. They recommend euthanasia. Her owners bring her to C.H.A.N.E.L. and Koi is given Reiki. The next morning she is up, eating and in full spirits. Upon returning to the Vet’s office, they insist it is a different dog. Koi now demands Reiki whenever a Practitioner is near! - Reiki Ree

2. Requests for Long Distance Healing:
Requests for Long Distance Healing: When there are several requests, in our small way, we can participate by adding each individual to our prayer list or to send long distance Reiki. Please consider printing out these requests so you can remember these people over this next month.
If you make a request for long distance healing, it would be helpful if you could provide us with some feedback on how the person is doing after a period of time.Remember if there are multiple requests, you can use the stack method of sending long distance Reiki. One suggestion would be: When time permits-- send long distance Reiki for one specific request, then add that request to an on-going list or stack that receives unlimited Reiki.
Level I Practitioners: You can participate in the Long Distance Requests by adding the individuals to your prayer list or send positive thoughts and intentions.

3. Q & A
QUESTION: Is their a difference between healing and curing, and if so, what is it?
ANSWER:
There is a great difference between healing and curing. The discussion here could go on for a long time, but we'll take the simplified version. A healing is complete, a cure is partial. A cure will work to eliminate or get rid of symptoms . A healing goes beyond the symptoms to look for underlying causes. A cure can occur without a healing. If the underlying reason for the imbalance is not addressed and resolved, a cure is not likely to be long term. A healing occurs when the body has returned to its natural state of balance and harmony. Healing is a multi-leveled process that addresses the individual as a whole by bringing the mind, body and spirit into alignment.

7. Working with Others: Energizing Water As we all know, drinking enough water daily is very important, but it is not only the amount of water we drink but the quality of that water as well that is vital. When we are working on maintaining our personal health or working as a practitioner with others, or just helping friends and family members, here is one technique that is effective in energizing water so that it is filled with life force energy.
All objects, whether animate or inanimate have consciousness and purpose. This is extremely important to understand for this exercise...potenizing a bottle of water. Buy a good quality bottle of water that will be used for the exercise. Once you have finished working with the water, this becomes the mother bottle.
Procedure: Hold a bottle of water up to your heart and go through the following procedure: • Connect with the consciousness of the water
• Give thanks and express appreciation to the water for all it does
• Ask permission to work with the water…wait until you feel an acknowledgement
• Ask the water to release all events of trauma and tragedy that have run through it
• Ask the water to remove any anger or fear that it has held onto
• Ask the water to raise its vibrational rate and frequency to the highest level possible
• Ask the water to adjust itself to the appropriate surface tension level of the person using it
• Ask the water to energize any other water source it touches- being equal to or exceeding the current level of vibration
• Place the intention that you will gain increased benefits from this water source from each sip you take
• Every time your have a drink of water, express gratitude and know that it is serving the purpose you intend.
• Put in a thought form to cleanse all waste material from the cells of the person drinking from this source.
• Put the intention forth that only a single drop of this water needs to be added to any additional water source, for it to convey all the information we have just inputted into this mother bottle.
Close with thoughts of love and gratitude for the water.

9. Tips & Tidbits:
60 Ways to Heal Your Life… From Lynda Field’s book Each month one of Lynda’s suggestion is included:
Suggestion 44: Look for the Silver Lining Life is full of ups and downs and we can learn from everything that happens to us. So, a relationship ends; we fail an exam' lose a job....Once the initial anger, dependency, depression is over we can review our setbacks and use them to learn more about ourselves. Every event is our lives has a purpose, there is a powerful intention in every situation. Rather than remaining in a negative state which will only take you further down, try approaching the situation in a new way.
EXERCISE- FINDING THE SILVER LINING Ask yourself the following questions:
How did this happen? How can i see this situation differently? In what way can this loss work for me? What can I learn about myself here? What is there that is positive in this situation?
If this is hard to do, think back to a difficult time in the past. For example, you may have lost a job opportunity and so found yourself taking a totally different direction which turned out to be exactly right for you. An intimate relations may have ended leaving your heartbroken. Perhaps this relationship wasn't good for you and you only see this as your heart mends and your start to enjoy your new freedom and independence. As one door closes another opens. Look for the newly opening door, look for the silver lining.
