The path to health and wellness begins with the solid foundation of a good nutritional
program.  We can investigate all the therapies out there that will help to put us on
the right road to wellness, but unless it is rooted in a healthy, nutrient packed diet,
we are really sabotaging our efforts.  Whether looking to maintain an already
robust lifestyle or being in the process of healing from illness, this first step is
absolutely crucial.

For those who keep current on the state of nutrition these days, we are sadly aware
that the choices for the good food necessary to sustain a healthy body sometimes
require great detective skills to locate. As we have seen over the past months, food
safety is a major issue. With large scale farming continuing  to provide the vast majority
of people with their basic staples, I'm afraid we are going to see the problems that are
manifesting ( E coli bacteria out breaks, food contamination,  and GMO's, etc)  become
more prevalent.

BUT, fortunately for those of us living in the vicinity of Blooming Glen, PA, we were
lucky enough to have the opportunity to participate in the Community Supported
Agriculture (CSA) program started by farmers Tricia Borneman and Tom Murtha this
year. Trica and Tom, opened for business this past spring and are now in the home
stretch of their first successful season.

Our family of four joined the Blooming Glen CSA and have enjoyed the harvest of
great food, good community and good health.  I can't begin to express the gratitude
I feel for having been able to be part of this group over the past few months. Tricia
and Tom's passion for the work they do permeates everything on the farm.  Walking
onto the land each week to pick up my wide variety of produce has been both an
uplifting and energizing experience.

The connection I have had with preparing this food has been like no other....bringing
me back to the spiritual nature of the land that provides this bounty, with the deep
respect and appreciation toward the people who are making this happen,  enjoying the
freshness tasted in every bite,  along with the feeling of comfort knowing that this
food has been carefully grown and nurtured without the use of pesticides that deplete
its nutritional value...I count my blessings to have such a wonderful farm in our local
community.

Tricia and Tom's down to earth, genuine caring goes well beyond the food they are
growing.  We have enjoyed monthly pot luck dinners at the farm, with the opportunity
to meet new people, as well as receiving an awesome regular newsletter written by Tricia
that keeps us posted on farm happenings in addition to  providing us with tasty recipes to
try for some of the usual and unusual produce items we are picking up.  The season's
social activities culminated with a wonderful Harvest Festival they organized at the farm to
celebrate the season's bounty with shareholders.

So at this time I would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to Tricia and Tom and their
family for their labor of love...I think I speak for each of us who has been part of the
experience in saying that we truly appreciate and are deeply grateful for what you are
providing our community.  May you have continued success and great abundance as
you proceed in the years ahead.
